How We Are Connecting Dots from the Nature and Traditional Korean Wisdom to Building Solutions for the Future
Finding Clues From Nature and
Embracing the Korean Heritage
We believe that nature and centuries-old wisdom can provide so much for cutting-edge solutions to today's problems.
Kozy.care's tension-relief topper, Litual, is a result of borrowing from traditional Korean inventions to recreate the therapeutic warmth we find in nature.
Reimagining the Sustainable Lifestyle and Business
At Kozy.care, we acknowledge that everything we make impacts the planet and pledge to take our responsibility seriously. While we will continuously seek more ways of commitment, we would like to share some of our essential principles today.
Tackling Home Energy Consumption Through Microclimate Management
Globally, heating the spaces where we live and work accounts for nearly half of all energy consumption and 40% of energy-related carbon dioxide emissions. Especially in regions where much of the housing is more than 40 years old, like in Europe and North America, the figures are more noteworthy. For example, space and water heating account for over 70% of household energy consumption in the UK. Thus, turning down the room temperature by 1 degree Celcius can have a significant cumulative effect. According to Element Energy, the UK would save 1.18 million tonnes of CO2 if everyone carried out such a decrease.
Kozy.care aims to contribute to a more sustainable - yet more comfortable and healthy - lifestyle by reducing the need to heat large (and often unoccupied) spaces. Litual enables each individual to control their microclimate most effectively and comfortably.
Furthermore, unlike most electronics - let alone conventional heating devices - it operates on extremely low-voltage DC. At most, a Litual for two people uses 100 watts of electricity to reach the peak temperature, which usually takes 30-60 minutes. Its standby power consumption is less than 1W. For your information, a laptop charger uses 90-180 watts per hour, and a space heater uses 1500 watts per hour on average.
Optimising Resources Through Collaborative Innovation
Litual could have been in the shape of a mattress or had sleep-tracking sensors attached to its unique Far-Infrared Vein. So why did we make it a relatively simple topper instead? This is because our objective is not to become a winner by "disrupting the market" but to bring greater, more sustainable value by catalysing synergy.
Numerous brands in the sleep and wellness industry have spent so many resources to be good at what they do. You also probably have some wonderful products from them already, ranging from a comfortable mattress to an advanced health-tracking wearable.
Creating something that solves the same problem as the other brands and thereby making your perfectly-fine products obsolete (while charging you more) would not be in anyone's interest.
Instead, we decided to focus exclusively on what nobody else but we can bring to the table: warmth for holistic wellness. This way, we can actively partner with excellent players in the ecosystem, including the brands you love, to bring much bigger value while efficiently using everyone's resources.
